United World College Costa Rica is a non-profit foundation offering a two-year residential pre-university program focused on experiential learning. Our educational program encompasses three main areas: Academics (International Baccalaureate Diploma), Co-Curricular and Residence Life. All activities and learning opportunities incorporate one or more of UWC Costa Ricaacute;s six competencies: social responsibility, diversity, conflict transformation, sustainability, leadership, and healthy lifestyle. Our mission is to educate a diverse group of young men and women to become happy, healthy and committed individuals, capable through their leadership and engagement, of fostering positive change in their communities in order to contribute to achieving a more sustainable and peaceful world. As the only UWC in Latin America, we offer a bilingual program, opportunities to learn more about the social, political, and cultural history of the region, and options to explore Costa Rica. Today, UWC Costa Rica is currently home to 172 students representing 70 different countries. We are part of a network of international schools, in this moment there are 17 schools in 17 different countries. When a student wants to apply to UWC they can apply through the National Committee of their country -you can learn more about the national committees and how to contact yours here Each Committee has a unique selection process that fits calendars, cultures, educational systems, and circumstances of each country so it is important that you contact your National Committee to know what their application process and dates. ]]>
