Diversity Collaborative

ISS Diversity Collaborative

ISS and its partners are committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse environment among the leadership of the international school community. As the global non-profit leader in developing, managing, supplying and staffing high-quality international schools around the world, ISS is inspired by our daily engagements with educators from around the world.

Our earliest initiative was focused on the challenges faced by women in leadership positions. Since 2002, ISS has hosted an annual symposium to provide opportunities for development and professional networking for women in international education. In 2016, we renamed the event The Mary Anne Haas Women’s Symposium, in honor of its founder Mary Anne Haas, who retired from ISS in June of 2016 at the age of ninety after decades of promoting international education. We continue to host The Mary Anne Haas Women’s Symposium every summer in Princeton, NJ.

As an expansion of our work with women’s leadership, ISS is proud to work with various partners to initiate a new diversity collaborative. This collaborative hopes to utilize the talents of leaders in education to create lasting changes in the way we engage, support and promote educators who encompass a broad range of identities. This diversity collaborative is still in its formative stages but is already showing much promise and generating considerable interest and support.
